उत्तर प्रदेश में 4000 लेखपालों की भर्ती की प्रक्रिया जल्द ही शुरू होने वाली है। भर्ती प्रक्रिया के लिए विभाग ने तैयारियां शुरू कर दी है। राजस्व परिषद् नगर निकाय चुनाव की अचार संहिता ख़त्म होने के बाद लिखित परीक्षा से भर्ती की योजना पर काम कर रहा है। UP के करीब 3000 पद खाली है। लेखपालों की पदोन्नति का ज्यादा अवसर देने के लिए राजस्व निरीक्षक भर्ती में सीधी भर्ती की व्यवस्था ख़त्म की जा चुकी है। इसके सभी पद पदोन्नति से ही भरे जाएंगे। क़रीब 1000 लेखपाल दिसंबर 2017 तक राजस्व निरीक्षक बन जाएंगे। इसमें यूपी लेखपाल के 1000 पद और खाली हो जाएंगे। इस तरह लेखपाल के 4000 पद भर्ती के लिए उपलब्ध होंगे।
